Lorna Evans, owner of Insalon and Zúmay salons, has been recognised across Australia for her award-winning hair styling and her outstanding service. For the past seven years Lorna has been a member of the Matrix Australia design team training long hair styling. As part of the team, Lorna travelled throughout Australia educating hairdressers and participating in shows such as Hair Expo in Sydney. The new year will bring some new challenges, with both salons now changing brands to Redken, and with Lorna taking up a new role as part of the Redken NY Education Team.
Lorna opened her first hair salon in Frankston in 1990. Then, in 2002, she opened her second salon, Zúmay Mornington. Six years on, with Zúmay well established, it was time for a new challenge: Insalon was opened in December 2007, and then Zúmay Frankston on level one of the Myer building.
Lorna believes the key to her success is dedication and education. Along with many other on-going training programs, Lorna’s team of stylists will take their 18th annual trip to Sydney’s Hair Expo, which is the perfect forum for exposure to the latest trends and developments.
